A standard metallic finish has roughly the same slip rating as polished tile. For garages, basements, and any space where slip resistance matters, we recommend an anti-slip additive in the topcoat to add traction without significantly changing the look.

Most residential metallic projects take 3-5 days, with full cure for vehicle traffic 72 hours after the topcoat goes down. We'll give you exact timing, based on your project size and coating system, during your estimate.

Flake systems use textured chips broadcast into the base coat — durable, slip-resistant, and great at hiding concrete imperfections. Metallic uses pigmented resin to create flowing, marble-like patterns — more visually dramatic and seamless. Flake is a practical and functional flooring upgrade; metallic is a showpiece.
